daikanyama 代官山 だいかんやま
daikanyama is a trendy shopping area near shibuya in tokyo. it has more small shops with a cute and independant vibe, and some nice cafes. from daikanyama, it's possible to walk to shibuya in about a half an hour, just follow along the train tracks for a glimpse into a little quieter area of tokyo.

this little shop in a quiet corner of daikanyama has some of the most beautiful tenugui designs. the store's name is kamawanu, (japanese website here), and their towels and postcard books of their designs can be found in stores all over japan. but if you love tenugui towels and are in tokyo, it's probably worth a trip to visit this store.
